Tom Lord-Alge is a renowned mix engineer whose career has shaped the sound of countless iconic albums spanning multiple decades. With a legacy built on precision and innovation, Lord-Alge is regarded as one of the most influential figures in the world of audio engineering.
Born in the United States, Lord-Alge began his career at Unique Recording Studios in New York before moving to become the resident mixer at the legendary South Beach Studios (formerly located on the ground floor of the Marlin Hotel in Miami). It was here that his talent for crafting the perfect mix caught the attention of the music world.
Over the course of his illustrious career, Tom Lord-Alge has won three Grammy Awards, including two for Best Engineered Recording – Non-Classical for his work on Steve Winwood's Back in the High Life (1986) and Roll with It (1988). His third Grammy came for his pivotal role in mixing Santana's Supernatural (1999), which won Album of the Year.
Lord-Alge's influence stretches across genres, having worked with some of the biggest names in music. His mixing credits include U2, The Rolling Stones, Pink, Peter Gabriel, Sarah McLachlan, Dave Matthews Band, Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, Live, Marilyn Manson, and many others.
