Serban Ghenea

Serban Ghenea is a Canadian audio engineer and mix engineer whose work has shaped the sound of modern pop, R&B, and hip-hop. With an astonishing 45 Grammy nominations and 21 wins, he is one of the most prolific and in-demand mixing engineers in the industry.
Ghenea first gained major recognition with his Grammy-winning work on Justin Timberlake’s Justified album and has since become the go-to mixer for top artists worldwide. He has worked on more than 169 singles and albums that have reached No. 1, including the massive Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars hit “Uptown Funk”, which dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks.
Unlike many traditional engineers, Ghenea is known for working exclusively in the box, having ditched analog consoles in favor of digital software to refine his signature approach. His belief in not imposing his own sound allows him to enhance an artist’s unique identity rather than shaping the music to fit a personal style.
Beyond his Grammy success, Ghenea has also been nominated for six TEC Awards, winning one for his work on Beck’s “Dreams”. His influence on modern music mixing is undeniable, making him a key figure in shaping today’s most sonically polished and commercially successful records.
